About this policy

Solano Home ("we", "us") is a trading name of a sole-trader business (ABN 94 592 370 727), based in Point Cook, Victoria, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact details — name, email, phone, delivery and billing address.
  • Order information — items purchased, order value and order history.
  • Payment information, processed directly by our payment providers, including Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay, Zip and Shop Pay. We don't see or store your full card details.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser and device details, and browsing behaviour, collected through cookies.
  • Anything you send us directly, such as messages, reviews or photos you provide with a support request.

How and why we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you browse our site, create an account, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, and automatically through cookies. We use it to process and deliver your order, provide customer support, send marketing you've opted into, improve our site and range, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.

Marketing

We only send marketing emails or SMS if you've opted in, whether at checkout or through our newsletter sign-up, in line with the Spam Act 2003. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing message, or by contacting us.

Cookies

We use cookies for essential site functions such as your cart, for analytics, and for advertising, including Google and Meta pixels used to show relevant ads and measure how well they perform. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect how parts of the site work.

Third parties and overseas disclosure

We share personal information with the parties needed to run Solano Home: our ecommerce platform (Shopify), payment providers, our Australian-warehouse fulfilment partners and our overseas warehouse partner for the imported range, review and marketing apps, and analytics and advertising providers. Some of these providers store or process data overseas, including in the United States. We only share what each provider needs in order to deliver their service to us, and we don't sell your personal information.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for access to, or correction of, your personal information at any time by contacting solanohomedesign@gmail.com. If you raise a privacy complaint with us and aren't satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Security and changes to this policy
